FAQ

You might ask

Answers to the most common questions before using HengHeng: pricing, installation, devices, microphone access, privacy, accuracy, accounts, and practice boundaries.

Is HengHeng free?

The core web tools are free to open and use. If advanced history, courses, or native-app memberships arrive later, they will be explained clearly on their own pages without blocking today’s basic practice entry.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The web version runs directly in your browser and is best for quick practice. You can also add it to your phone’s home screen. Native iOS and Android apps are still in development.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, phone and desktop. On phone, turn off silent mode or use headphones for sound and mic.

Do I need music theory?

No. HengHeng turns abstract sound into visual feedback — beginners welcome.

Do I need to allow microphone access?

Yes. When you open a practice tool, your browser asks for mic permission — allow it so HengHeng can analyze your voice in real time. Silent tools like the piano don't need it.

Which devices and browsers are supported?

Both desktop and mobile, on modern browsers like Chrome, Edge, and Safari. On phones, turn off silent mode or use headphones for proper playback and mic input.

How accurate is it, and how is scoring done?

HengHeng analyzes fundamental frequency, resonance, and breath stability in real time, turning your voice into visible curves and cent-level deviation — acoustically grounded, not arbitrary scoring.

Do I need an account?

Core practice works the moment you open it — no signup required. Sign in to save your practice history and track progress over time.

Does the browser upload my voice?

Most real-time tools analyze microphone input in the browser to draw curves and feedback. Features involving account history, reports, or uploads will explain what is saved in the product UI; core practice works without signing in.

Can I practice with headphones?

Yes, and headphones are often recommended for pitch monitoring, Echo, and karaoke practice. They reduce speaker sound leaking back into the microphone, making readings more stable.

Can HengHeng replace a vocal coach?

Not completely. HengHeng is good for instant feedback, short drills, and progress tracking; posture, expression, curriculum, and voice-health concerns still need qualified human judgment.

Can I practice when my throat feels unwell?

If you only feel low energy, use lighter warm-ups. If you have pain, clear hoarseness, coughing, or fatigue, stop voiced practice. HengHeng is not a medical diagnostic tool.

Why do results change from day to day?

Voice results change with sleep, fatigue, room noise, mic distance, volume, and daily voice use. Long-term trends matter more than one day’s score.

When will the iOS and Android apps launch?

The native apps are in development. The current priority is keeping the web version stable; you can leave your contact on the download page to be notified when apps launch.
