How to use it

A 3-minute first drill

Start in a comfortable middle-low range and sing lightly; read the trend instead of forcing every instant to zero.

Reading the feedback

How to read what you see

Note name

The nearest equal-tempered note name. Use it for orientation, not as the whole judgment of a moving voice.

Hz

The current fundamental frequency. You do not need to memorize it, but it explains why a note sounds higher or lower.

Cents

Cent deviation describes distance from the target; in 12-tone equal temperament, 100 cents equals one semitone.

Curve trend

A stable sustained note usually waves gently around the target. If the ending slides down, check breath and phrase support first.

Accompaniment, speaker playback, and room noise can disturb detection. Use headphones or a quieter room for the first check.

Chasing one instant

Pitch naturally moves. The full curve is more useful than forcing one frame to look perfect.

Closer numbers do not automatically mean healthy technique. If you tighten up, lower volume and pitch first.
